BIOFIN Experts in forest management, fishery, agriculture, light and heavy industries and representatives of public organizations have discussed a financial resource mobilization plan to conserve biodiversity in Kazakhstan in Almaty on 27-28 July 2017.

The BIOFIN project team proposed new areas for subsidies and tax incentives, compensation schemes for the damage on biodiversity and payments for ecosystem services. It is expected that the new steps will help conserve biodiversity in Kazakhstan, which is heavily affected by anthropogenic activities.
